Thank you so much for sharing your time & talents with our school. Your help with the items below do so much to add to the wonderful cooperative environment that makes our school such a success!!
**Being dependable and reliable are essential. Please make arrangements in advance when you will be absent and notify the teacher, committee head or PTO Board member if you are unable to make your scheduled time.
**Classroom work is always confidential. Volunteers should not discuss student problems with anyone except the supervising teacher.
**Remember that you are a ROLE MODEL for our students. Dress appropriately, use appropriate language, and bring your POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!
**Please refrain from socializing with other adults while you are working within the classroom.
**Remember to turn off your cell phone or have it switched to vibrate when you enter the building. If you need to take a call, please exit the classroom.
**To ensure good learning environment for your child, please allow him or her to be independent even when you are volunteering within your child’s classroom.
**Please do not use the time as a classroom volunteer to conference with the teacher about your child.
**Stress good manners at all times. If a disciplinary problem arises, it should be discussed privately with the teacher, and remain confidential.
**Please plan ahead and do not bring smaller children into the classrooms with you. We love seeing our future “DUKES” but it is a liability to have them in the classroom during school hours with you. There are certain times that small children are allowed, especially when in the PTO office.
**If you do not know how to use a machine in the teachers workroom or a machine malfunctions, please report the problem to the office. Understand that someone may not be able to fix the problem right away as a service call may need to be placed. IF you are comfortable doing so, please attempt to resolve paper jams on your own. Toner and staple replacements should be changed by Marlboro staff only.
**Our teachers/staff members are extremely pressed for time. Each teacher or staff remember only has a certain amount of time they are able to prepare materials for students. Consequently, we ask that you help ease this situation by:
-Not leaving large batches of copying in the printer and walking off.
-Staying with each job in the event that it needs to be interrupted by a staff member.
-If a teacher or staff member enters the workroom, please ask if he/she needs the machine.
Thank you for all that you do!
